Equipment

  • Blender
  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth (optional for a smoother drink)
  • Large pitcher
  • Citrus juicer (manual or electric)
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Watermelon Seedless, cubed
  • 1/3 cup Fresh lemon juice About 2–3 lemons
  • 2–3 tbsp Honey or agave Adjust to taste (or use simple syrup)
  • 1 cup Cold water Add more if needed to adjust consistency
  • 1/4 cup Fresh mint leaves Lightly crushed or muddled
  • 1 cup Ice cubes For serving
  • 4–6 Mint sprigs For garnish
  • 4 slices Lemon Optional, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Watermelon:

  • Cut the watermelon into chunks and remove any seeds (if not seedless).
  • Measure 4 cups of cubed watermelon.

Blend the Base:

  • In a blender, combine the watermelon cubes, fresh lemon juice, and honey/agave.
  • Blend until completely smooth.

Strain (Optional):

  • For a smoother texture, strain the blended mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large pitcher. Use the back of a spoon to press the juice through.

Add Mint & Water:

  • Lightly crush mint leaves with your hands or muddler to release their oils.
  • Add the mint and 1 cup of cold water to the pitcher. Stir well.

Chill (Optional but Recommended):

  • Let the lemonade rest in the fridge for 15 minutes to allow flavors to infuse.

Serve:

  • Fill glasses with ice, pour in the lemonade, and garnish with mint sprigs and lemon slices.

Enjoy:

  • Serve immediately for the most refreshing taste.

Notes

Recipe Notes:

  • Sweetener Options: Honey, agave syrup, maple syrup, or a simple sugar syrup (1:1 water and sugar boiled together then cooled) can all be used.
  • Mint Tips: Muddling mint too much can make it bitter. Gently bruising the leaves is enough.
  • Lemon Juice: Freshly squeezed lemon juice makes a big difference—avoid bottled if possible.
  • Chilling Shortcut: You can use frozen watermelon cubes instead of ice for a slushie-style lemonade.
  • Make it Sparkling: Swap out the cold water for sparkling water or club soda just before serving.
  • Make Ahead: Can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance. Just store covered in the fridge and stir well before serving.
