Equipment

  • Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone mat
  • Forks or dipping tools
  • Cooling rack (optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups(340g) White chocolate chips (or chopped white chocolate bars)
  • 1 tbsp Coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
  • 4 cups Mini pretzels or pretzel twists
  • 1/4 cup Assorted sprinkles or crushed nuts (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking.
  • Organize your pretzels, sprinkles, or any other toppings for easy access.

Step 2: Melt the White Chocolate

  • Using a Double Boiler:
  • Place a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (do not let the bowl touch the water).
  • Add the white chocolate chips and stir gently until melted and smooth. Add coconut oil if the chocolate seems too thick.
  • Using a Microwave:
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the white chocolate in 20-30 second intervals, stirring after each burst until smooth.

Step 3: Dip the Pretzels

  • Using a fork or a dipping tool, dip each pretzel into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it is fully or partially coated.
  • Tap the fork gently against the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
  • Place the coated pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet.

Step 4: Decorate

  • While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your chosen toppings over the pretzels.
  • Work quickly to prevent the chocolate from setting before adding decorations.

Step 5: Allow to Set

  • Let the pretzels rest at room temperature for 30 minutes, or place them in the refrigerator for faster setting.

Notes

  • Chocolate Substitution: Use dark or milk chocolate if preferred.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Avoid humidity to prevent chocolate bloom.
  • Customizations:
    • Add a drizzle of contrasting chocolate for a decorative touch.
    • Experiment with toppings like crushed peppermint, candy bits, or edible glitter for festive occasions.
  • Troubleshooting: If the chocolate seizes (becomes lumpy), stir in a small amount of coconut oil to restore smoothness.

These white chocolate-covered pretzels are a perfect balance of sweet and salty, making them a crowd-pleaser for parties, gifts, or just a special treat for yourself!
